What are Gig Buddies Group Social Events?
Gig Buddies group social events are hosted by the GB team so that all signed-up participants and volunteers in the Gig Buddies project can catch up and do fun stuff in a group setting.
Monthly group social events are held all over Metro Sydney and Central Coast.
The main focus of the Gig Buddies project is to "buddy-up" participants and volunteers so they can catch up and go to their own events together.
Gig Buddies group social events are a "bonus" way for participants to meet people and socialise.
All group social events are run as "not-for-profit".
Participants only pay for a group social event if they need to cover the cost of admission tickets, venue hire and/or catering.
Group social events are included* as part of being in the Gig Buddies project.
* participants pay for their own food and drinks (unless a catered event)
What: Happy Feet @ The Entrance
Where: Memorial Park, The Entrance NSW 2261 (see map below)
Tell me about the gig: Enjoy dinner or grab takeaway from a local eatery and sit down under the starry night sky for a free open-air screening of Happy Feet!
This free family event will have a range of activities for the kids including crafts, circus play space, roving entertainment, face painting and lawn games.
Bring a picnic rug and grab a bite to eat from a local eatery. Come early to find a great spot.

*There will be one Gig Buddies staff member for up to 20 attendees (participants and volunteers combined). If you need extra support, please let us know if you plan on bringing a support worker/support person with you to this event.

What time do we meet? 5pm.
Please note, activities will commence at 4pm. Movie will start at 6pm
What time does the movie start? 6pmWhat time does the movie end? 8:45pm (approximately)
Meeting spot: Next to the concrete steps, beside the water's edge (see images below)
How do I get there? Public transport options to The Entrance are limited. We recommend attendees either drive, car pool or catch taxis/Uber's.
While free parking is not guaranteed, it can be found on surrounding streets. We advise attendees to plan ahead.
How will I get home? Please plan ahead.
Please note, transports to and from the venue is not supplied. Attendees are required to make their own way to and from the venue.

What else do I need to bring?
- Money for purchasing food and drinks (debit card)
- ID
- Don’t forget your Opal card if catching public transport
- Phone for pictures and finding staff
- Mask and sanitiser if you wish
- Pack something warm to wear
- Picnic blanket / picnic food and drinks

How do I join? Register by getting a ticket from this page (click 'add to bag' in the top right hand corner and enter your details)
Please note:
- Attendees must bring ID.
- Gig Buddies staff will be in attendance, but will not be on hand to provide individual support.
- Getting there: Transport to and from the venue is not supplied. Attendees are responsible for making their own way to and from the venue.
- Getting home: Gig Buddies staff may help attendees with catching public transport, taxis or Ubers home - up until 30 minutes after the scheduled end; Gig Buddies staff are unable to assist attendees who remain at the venue beyond this time.
- Attendees do not need to be paired with a gig buddy to join us. All signed up participants with a current service agreement or volunteers who have completed compliance are welcome to join us.
- COVID-19: If you’re feeling unwell we ask that you do not attend.
- Participants who require extra support must let the Gig Buddies team know if they will be bringing along a support worker or family member to an event. Thank you.
